Signal 1 Joins Forces with the Coalition for Health AI (CHAI) to become Newest Assurance Service Provider Partner
Accelerating the Safe and Effective Deployment of AI in Healthcare
Toronto, ON – June 23, 2025 — Signal 1 today announced its collaboration with the Coalition for Health AI (CHAI), as the coalition’s newest organization in the Assurance Service Provider Certification process, helping to set the standards for how AI models can be responsibly governed. This designation is an important milestone that recognizes Signal 1’s mission to accelerate the safe and effective use of AI technologies in healthcare.
This designation affirms Signal 1’s commitment to responsible AI and verifies that its flagship AI Management System supports rigorous AI governance and life cycle management of AI tools, including robust post-deployment surveillance capabilities. It also reflects a broader shift in healthcare toward the need for greater transparency and trust to drive faster AI adoption.
CHAI’s Assurance Services are designed to accelerate the adoption of AI models in healthcare by providing tools and frameworks that ensure compliance with industry best practices. Assurance providers will help address critical gaps in healthcare AI oversight by serving as certified partners who can provide core elements of robust AI governance including the evaluation of models in real-world settings, creation of CHAI model cards, and supporting the implementation of model lifecycle management practices at healthcare organizations.
“As we advance our mission to enable responsible, trustworthy AI, this is one of the first of many collaborations where CHAI-certified service providers will work to ensure AI serves all patients,” said Dr. Brian Anderson, CEO of CHAI. “We’re encouraged to see Signal 1 lead the way in streamlining product evaluation and facilitating simpler comparisons during health AI procurement for both health systems and solution providers.”
In this new CHAI relationship, Signal 1 is now positioned to support healthcare organizations looking to assess AI tools using CHAI-aligned frameworks and best practices. Signal 1 will work with CHAI to establish a governance framework and serve as a CHAI Certified Assurance Service Provider as that framework is finalized later this year.
“Healthcare leaders want to move quickly on AI, but they also need to move safely. That requires the confidence and the technology to validate, deploy and monitor AI models, at scale,” said Mara Lederman, Co-Founder and COO of Signal 1. “We are thrilled to see CHAI’s ongoing leadership in this area and to grow our partnership with them to operate as an Assurance Service Provider, helping health systems ensure that their AI tools meet the highest standards for safety and performance.”
Signal 1 is proud to join CHAI in advancing a more transparent and accountable future for health AI.
