Grand River Hospital deploys AI in hunt for efficiencies

KITCHENER — Grand River Hospital is the first in Canada to use new software that helps nurses, doctors and other clinicians make more efficient use of beds by predicting which patients will be ready for discharge within 48 hours.

“The Patient Discharge Solution” was developed by the AI med-tech startup Signal 1 in Toronto. It was deployed at Grand River earlier this week, and will run to the end of March.
